Dear New Member
I am delighted to welcome you to the Fife & Kinross Cycling UK Member Group. Whether you get a buzz from a leisurely ride to your favourite cafe, or relish a bigger challenge such as riding from Land’s End to John o’Groats, the group will enable you to connect with others in your area who share your enjoyment of cycling.
Because our Group covers a fairly large geographical area, for our regular meets we nominate a lunchtime rendezvous, to which members make their own way. Details of the venue for each meet, which are held on Saturdays and alternate Wednesdays, are given on the Runs List. When the destination is someone’s home, you should bring a packed lunch and the host/hostess will provide tea/coffee. Commonly, members will team up with other riders from nearby in order to ride to the day’s venue, and in time you may enjoy making similar such arrangements.
Understandably, newcomers may feel reticent about turning up alone at a first-time meet, especially when this is at a private address. However, I can assure you that you will receive a warm welcome and will quickly befriend others who simply enjoy cycling, discussing ideas and sharing experiences. Please do take the time to explore the website, but feel free to contact either myself or another committee member, and we will be happy to answer any queries you may have regarding the Group’s activities.
We look forward to having your company.
